Mrs. Raquel Archung holds her Multiple Subject Credential with CLAD Emphasis in Elementary School Teaching from the University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and General Studies from the University of California, Riverside. She also holds her Certificate in Spanish from the Universidad Complutense De Madrid, Spain. Mrs. Archung is our 4th grade teacher, returning for her third year at SCA. She has been with us since year 1! Raquel has a special interest in making reading come alive for her students, and knows reading is an integral part of a student's learning experience. Raquel has dual citizenship in the US and Spain. Her twins, Blake and Avery, are seniors at Lake Travis High School. In her younger years, Raquel was a volleyball player and a swimmer; going to the Junior Olympics, working as a lifeguard, teaching swim lessons, and coaching a high school swim team. More recently, Raquel created and implemented the VEX IQ Robotics Program for both elementary and middle school levels, and their teams qualified for the Robotics World Championship.
