Faculty & Staff
Our faculty and staff are more than educators — they are mentors, role models, and partners in your child’s growth. Each member of our team is committed to academic excellence and Christ-centered discipleship, creating a classroom environment where students feel supported, challenged, and known.
Administrative Staff
Our administrative team works behind the scenes to ensure that every part of school life runs smoothly and efficiently. From admissions to daily operations, they are dedicated to serving families with clarity, care, and professionalism.
As the first point of contact for many families, our administrative staff reflects the warmth and community that define our school. They are committed to creating a welcoming experience, answering questions with transparency, and supporting parents and students every step of the way.
Together, our leadership team provides stability, communication, and direction — allowing our faculty to focus on what they do best: educating and discipling the next generation.
Mr. Timothy West
Head of School, Bible Teacher
Timothy and his family moved from Wisconsin to Texas to support the Broccardo family in planting Hope Rock Church, where he serves on the eldership team. He and his wife, Kerry, decided to send their four children to SCA in the 2023/24 school year, and since joining the school, they both felt called to play a role in carrying out God's vision for it. She became the music enrichment teacher, and he became the Communications Director and Secretary of the school board. Then in early 2025, they recognized that God was calling Timothy to serve as the head of school. He brings to the role his passion and expertise in the area of defining goals and developing strategic plans to achieve them. Timothy is eager to see the plans God has for the school, its students, and teachers.

Kerry has spent much of the past decade homeschooling her 4 children (who now attend SCA), and helping her husband run their small business. Kerry and her husband, Timothy (Head of School) are on the pastoral team at Hope Rock Church, and Kerry serves as one of the worship leaders there. She has played the piano and sang much of her life, and enthusiastically agreed to take on the role of elementary music enrichment teacher at the start of the 2024/2025 school year.

Kindergarten & 1st Grade
Grace Bayles was born and raised in Virginia and has lived in Austin, Texas, for the last twelve years. She loves being one of the original teachers at Spicewood Christian Academy, and returns for her third year teaching first graders! Her desire was to teach both first grade and music and that’s exactly what The Lord provided for her at SCA. With a degree in music and 16 years of teaching experience, Ms. Bayles integrates her love of song and her strong faith into such subjects as math, history, geography and Bible. The character that has been built raising four adult daughters and now a grandson spills over into every area of her life. Her favorite quote is “happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.” Grace says, "my life chapter is Isaiah 61, as it reflects my passion and work with restorative justice and prison ministry over the last seven years."

Mrs. Catherine Broccardo
Kindergarten & 1st Grade Assistant
Mrs. Catherine “Cat” Broccardo assists Mrs. Grace Bayles with Kindergarten and First Grade, and she brings energy, creativity, and a big smile to every class she teaches! With over two decades of experience, she has specialized in creative movement for children ages 1–8, blending music, play, and imagination to make learning unforgettable. After 14 years of homeschooling she knows that hands-on experiences — with a generous dose of fun — are the best teachers.
Her love for teaching is matched by her passion for faith — she loves teaching women’s Bible studies, and, alongside her husband Marco, supports the leadership of Hope Rock Church in Austin, Texas.
Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Cat and her family — Marco and their three children, Alessio, Dino, and Arabella — followed God’s call to Texas to plant a church. When she’s not in the classroom or at church, you’ll find her running, singing, crafting, decorating, dancing like nobody’s watching, and making ordinary days feel like a celebration.
Board of Directors
Mr. Marco Broccardo
President
Originally from South Africa, Marco is the founder and Lead Pastor at Hope Rock Church. He and his wife, Catherine, have three children, two of which attend Spicewood Christian Academy. In 1999, Marco was in the grips of addiction, but after giving his life to Jesus in a faith-based treatment center, he was delivered and set free. He says, “The Word teaches us in Romans 8:28 that all things work for our good, and this verse has been so real to me. If I wasn’t an addict, I am not sure I would have ever found Jesus or at least needed Him as desperately as I did.”
Fun Fact: In 2013, Marco was part of a three-man expedition that broke a world record. They were the first men to cross the Empty Quarter (1210km desert in the Arabian Peninsula) unassisted and on foot. The arduous trek took 40 days and 40 nights.
