Curriculum

SCA uses a variety of curriculum and learning resources, selecting resources that best suit the subject matter, the students’ developmental level, student learning styles, and student academic mastery.  Some of the curricula we use:

Language Arts

  • All About Spelling – grades K through 4
  • All about Reading
  • BJU English – grades 5th through 8th
  • IEW writing curricula
  • Various literature readers (novels, biographies, historical fiction)

Math

  • Saxon Math – K through Saxon 8/7 and Algebra ½
  • Various manipulatives and learning games

Social Studies/History

  • Masterbooks’ World’s Story – K through 4th
  • BJU Heritage 5, American History – 5th
  • BJU American Republic – 6th-8th

Science

  • ACSI’s Purposeful Design, K through 5th
  • BJU Life Science, Earth Science – 6th-8th
